The screen is something else Motorola is keen to shout about. It measures 2.2 inches corner to corner and displays 240 x 320 pixels and 16 million colours. This isn’t exactly ground-breaking. But it also displays video at 30 frames a second.

Is that screen going to be big enough?

So first impressions are good. Our only concern is that the screen isn't big enough to get the most out of video, however it's probably why Motorola can claim the decent battery life.

The mostly black colour scheme with lime highlights is certainly eye-catching, as is the phone's unusual shape. The Bluetooth headset could prove handy too. All in all, it's an interesting package.

The Motorla Z8 is a nice smartphone and thanks to its Symbian UIQ 3.1 platform makes it a solid performer. It's only let down by its functionality and price tag.

L’ergonomie générale demande un certain temps d’adaptation, système de clavier coulissant peu convaincant, touches de navigation et clavier numérique inconfortables, interface assez lente, menu par icônes triste et peu intuitif

Le bilan du Z8 se révèle au final nuancé, car même si la plupart des fonctionnalités sont au rendez-vous, les nombreux défauts ergonomiques viennent gâcher le tableau.
