Expert Review

A solid offering purely as a phone and a handy answering machine application aren't enough to make the Stealth appealing. Ultimately let down by a poor design, issues with text input and a rather moderate battery life.

Good display, Connectivity options, Answer Machine

Design, Clunky slider, Stylus location, Keypad, Sunlight glare makes display difficult to read, USB 1.2, Issues with text input

O2 Xda Stealth

O2's Xda Stealth looks a lot like a regular slider phone, until you flick it open and notice the Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system, push e-mail capabilities and built-in Wi-Fi support.

Touchpad or dialing pad option. Good smartphone performance. Inbuilt answering machine.

Poor battery life. Stylus is rubbish. Some functions default to the touchpad only. Self-launching applications.

O2's Xda Stealth promises a perfect hybrid world of smartphone and slider phone, but the reality of what it delivers is somewhat less than that. Read our Australian review.

The Stealth sneaks in

The O2 Xda Stealth fits the bill if you're looking for a classy PDA smartphone but does it have substance to match its style? Read on to find out.

Sharp screen ; has WiFi and push e-mail ; runs Windows Mobile 5.0

Weak battery life ; relatively small screen ; poor built-in camera

On the downside, the Stealth has relatively weak battery life and the included headphones are really uncomfortable to use.

O2 Stealth

O2's hybrid Stealth sports a keypad as well as all the usual PDA features in a slider phone form factor. We can't decide if we want it to be smaller or bigger, but it's sexy all the same.

o2 XDA Stealth

The o2 XDA Stealth has a lot going for it. It has a sleek slider design that is sure to impress everyone who lays their eyes on it. It can connect to multiple different GSM frequencies for world travelers. It has a relatively impressive display which...

The touchpad adds a unique dimension to using the o2 XDA Stealth ; Unique design for a smart phone ; Tons of features, just about everything that o2 could think of is thrown in

Terrible battery life ; Badly designed stylus ; Despite the touch screen, many functions are restricted to the keypad ; Prohibitively expensive for many people ; Not 3G compatible ; Some applications launch whether you want them to or not ; Usability...

There is no doubt about it, the o2 XDA Stealth is an amazing phone - or at least it should have been. It is unfortunate that there are so many glaring issues that hold this phone back from being what it could have been.
