RIM BlackBerry Curve 3G smartphone

The BlackBerry Curve 3G is an inexpensive introduction to the world of BlackBerry

Optical trackpad, upgradeable to BlackBerry 6 OS, best in class e-mail service, BlackBerry App World

Lacks wow factor, lock/multimedia keys hard to press, keyboard is smaller than other models, low screen resolution

RIM has added 3G connectivity and GPS to its entry-level Blackberry Curve, but everything else remains almost identical to the earlier model. This is yet another BlackBerry release that lacks a wow factor, but the upcoming BlackBerry 6 OS update should...

BlackBerry Curve 3G (T-Mobile)

The BlackBerry Curve 3G delivers fast Internet speeds and Wi-Fi calling to neutralize dead zones, although it's firmly a budget buy in light of more advanced Android-powered devices.

3G speeds on T-Mobile's network. Awesome Wi-Fi calling feature. Stellar battery life. Loud speakerphone.

Third-party app catalog still lags. Low-res camera.

Camera and Conclusions The Curve 3G still packs the same 2-megapixel camera sensor as the original BlackBerry Pearl in 2006. There's no auto-focus, image stabilization, or LED flash. It still takes OK photos, but it fell down in dimly lit rooms with...

BlackBerry Curve 3G review

Even though we liked the RIM BlackBerry Curve 8520 that was released for T-Mobile last year, the lack of 3G and GPS was disappointing. Fortunately, RIM has rectified that with its successor, the RIM BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300, which has support for...

The RIM BlackBerry Curve 3G has a slim profile, a responsive optical trackpad, and external media keys. It also has Wi-Fi, stereo Bluetooth, GPS, 3G, and a 2-megapixel camera.

The RIM BlackBerry Curve 3G is almost identical to its predecessor save for a few changes. The photo quality is poor as well.

Though we're disappointed that the RIM BlackBerry Curve 3G didn't have more improvements over its predecessor, it's still a decent upgrade with the addition of 3G and GPS. Plus, it's quite affordable for an entry-level smartphone.

BlackBerry Curve review

Back in May, we fell in love with the original RIM BlackBerry Curve , but a recent refresh of the smartphone has our hearts pitter pattering all over again. The RIM BlackBerry Curve 8310 keeps the same sleek design and robust messaging capabilities of...

The RIM BlackBerry Curve 8310 adds GPS capabilities to the already impressive and sleek messaging smartphone. You also get a 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, and good call quality.

The Curve 8310 doesn't offer Wi-Fi or 3G support. The Web browser isn't the sleekest, and the camera lacks video-recording capabilities. Also, unlike the T-Mobile version, you only get the proprietary BlackBerry Messenger IM client.

Still offering an attractive design and excellent messaging capabilities, the addition of GPS makes the RIM BlackBerry Curve 8310 an even more attractive choice for road warriors.

Review: RIM Curve

Since breaking out of its resolutely boring design aesthetic with the Pearl, BlackBerry just keeps releasing nice looking hardware that makes the former CTO perk...

Overhauled media player and desktop software work seamlessly. Call voice quality was excellent, and email worked as well as RIM fans would expect. Decent 2MP camera. We found ourselves showing it off, a new experience for many Blackberry users

Web browser is mediocre and in desperate need of a redux. While there is a full keyboard, it’s still a little slow for heavy typing. No 3G data

BlackBerry Curve 3G

The BlackBerry Curve 3G (or 9300) is the newest handset from RIM, pitched at the entry-level, as confirmed by Mike Lazaridis, CEO: "The majority of people in the worldwide mobile phone market have yet to buy their first smartphone and the BlackBerry...

Email service, looks good, connectivity, comfortable for calling

Low spec screen, camera and video, doesn't sit comfortably in the hand, keyboard edge tapering can cause one-handed typing issues

We liked the Curve 8520 when we saw it, but we are now a year ahead and essentially you get GPS and 3G in the same bundle, which compared to rival handsets isn't anything to get excited about: it is simply par for the course. Assuming the prices are as...

BlackBerry Curve 3G

We've been calling for a 3G Curve and finally we have it. The Curve 3G is most of what we love about the Bold 9700 with a dash of media savvy thrown in for good measure.

Sharp, curvaceous design ; Good QWERTY keyboard ; Excellent BlackBerry messaging tools ; Decent media player

Low-res screen with poor vertical viewing angle ; No camera flash ; Web browser feels old
