It's cheap. XP Home (rather than Vista or Linux). It's cheap. Quiet. Compact. It's Cheap! DVD burner in a sub-$300 PC. Available at Wal-Mart

It's cheap. Single-core processor. Only 1GB of memory. Integrated graphics uses needed system memory. Crapware. Only a 60-day subscription to Norton 360. Wal-Mart exclusive. Wouldn't run most of the benchmark tests

The eMachines EL1200-05w is a cheap PC for the Web-surfing crowd. It's only powerful enough to get you on the Web and to run very basic Windows programs.
