For a tad over the $1,000, the Gateway FX6801-03 is a gaming desktop that will let you play high-end games and still have some money left over to buy new ones.

New more powerful graphics card. Price won't break the bank. Easily expandable storage. Runs Crysis easily.

Cheap plastic feel of front panels. Bloatware.

update to my 11-18 post

 

The new keyboard from Gateway turned out to be the premium keyboard and it arrived in less than a week and all is good. Didn't even need a KB driver 'cause Vista and Win7 have a multimedia driver native.

Still is fast as all get out

Vista but just got notified Win7 upgrade is on the way

New machine does not work

 

Will call newegg tomorrow to ship it back. This is unacceptable to get a brand new machine for $1000 that does not work.

Received new machine today. Started it up and no video on my monitor. After about 25 minutes it shut down by itself ; Spent 1 hour with Gateway Chat during which he registered my system and pointed me to a support page which basically says check all...

This is an update to today's earlier review. I called Gateway tech support about the keyboard and in less than 5 minutes they verified my address and said a new one will here in 3-5 days. I hope it works. I will keep you informed.

Gateway support. Language/accent would have been difficult if I hadn't worked with others with similar accents

Beware

 

Only buy the Gateway FX 6801 if you do'nt want to use your computer!! It will be in shipping more than on you desk! It has a lot of bad parts. Only half of them work properly.NewEgg will only ship you a replacement after the receive the defective one....

Def buy this!!! worth every penny and you wont have to upgrade your pc for a LONG time!

Works great since July 09

 

very very happy with my purchase - I use it to stream video only will play 2 copies of Aion or 5 copies of World of Warcraft (multi boxing) it's does it without breaking a sweat - awesome system

very good components, better than expected ; at this new price - very very good value ; includes windows 7 upgrade through website - runs the RC without problems ; digital sound through hdmi (didn't find it during my first review) ; case is pretty nice...

I don't like orange too much

One that Works!

 

This is my second review for this system. I got this as a replacement for my first one. Video Card died in 20 mins..... System performs as it should now...Top pop-up Media Card Reader closes and opens better now!!!!!!!!! I got a system recently...

Don't buy this computer

 

Don't buy this computer.

Specs look great for the price when comparing to other computers with i7 processor. Nice looking case

No software CDs or documentation arrived with the computer. I experienced image and video display issues immediately. The computer locks up when trying to convert home movies. Awful customer support by Gateway. The customer support tech located...

Fast. Good Price

 

Excellent machine fast large power supply plenty of memory and a good size hard drive, love the ability to add extra hard drive right from the front and the back up button on front makes it convenient highly recommended

the front USB are hidden need to open from top or front
