I bought this computer to replace my past HP computer.  Which was a AMD dual core, XP 4 gig computer--great while it lasted--only 2 1/2 years.  But with newer technology, and a lot of cool things, it was worth the upgrade.  This is the reason I bought it:

We needed to upgrade our ten year old computer and after searching and researching, we found the HP Pavilion p6140f exactly what we wanted!

It is quiet, fast enough for my purposes and has more than adequate data storage.

Great for joining and editing home movies, playing on-line and DVD games. Super fast compared to my old PC.

for a quad-core, it's pretty slow, very disappointed and never liked HP, never will.

This was a great product at a good price. Surprised how cheap it was for such a reasonable desktop.
