The new HP z555 Digital Entertainment Center could serve as the template for A/V-style Media Center Edition PCs destined for the living room, and it's what we'll compare future MCE models against. Our early production unit wasn't quite perfect, but...

HDTV tuner, along with two SDTV tuners. Horizontal A/V-style shape. Quiet. HP Personal Media drives. Wireless net-working. Wireless keyboard with trackball mouse. A plethora of input/output ports

ATSC (Advanced Television Systems Committee) tuner doesn't work with satellite or cable HDTV, only over-the-air broadcasts. Suffers from crashes and system slowdowns when left on for extended periods

HP's Digital Entertainment Center enters the world of HDTV. The HDTV tuner is a nice extra feature, adding to the value of this already-excellent Media Center PC.
