HP Chromebook x2

It could use a $50 or $100 price cut, but HP's pioneering Chromebook x2 detachable joins Google's $999 Pixelbook as the elite of the Chrome OS field.

Elegant detachable design. Spiffy screen. More lap-friendly than tablets with kickstands. Strong performance and battery life.

Expensive. No backlit keyboard. Mediocre cameras.

Bottom Line: It could use a $50 or $100 price cut, but HP's pioneering Chromebook x2 detachable joins Google's $999 Pixelbook as the elite of the Chrome OS field.

HP Chromebook x2 review: A better bet and bargain than the Google Pixel Slate

The HP Chromebook x2 isn't as powerful or feature-packed as Google's Pixel Slate, but it's a better value and a better all-around machine.

Decent price for a 12-inch tablet with a keyboard and pen ; Good performance and excellent battery life ; Fantastic speakers and good I/O support

RAM and storage are meager, with no upgrade options ; Keyboard is flimsy and pen is very basic ; Chrome OS in tablet mode isn't great

The HP Chromebook x2 has its shortcomings, but compared to the pricier Pixel Slate, it’s by far the better bet and bargain.

If you can find the Chromebook x2 on sale and can put its portability to use, it's a worthy consideration as a backup or travel device.

Le Chromebook x2 relève le niveau dans la catégorie des 2 en 1 détachables grâce à un design pratique, de bonnes performances et un affichage très satisfaisant,...

Design bien pensé, livré avec clavier et stylet, écran tactile performant, deux caméras, son très correct, connectique généreuse, autonomie solide.

Stockage limité à 64 Go par défaut, le toucher du clavier un peu mou, le fourreau du stylet.

Le Chromebook x2 relève le niveau dans la catégorie des 2 en 1 détachables grâce à un design pratique, de bonnes performances et un affichage très satisfaisant, le tout pour un prix très compétitif.
