HP Envy 6-1001tx 15.6in Ultrabook

HP Envy 6-1001tx review: a big, Sandy Bridge-based notebook with discrete graphics, lots of RAM and plenty of storage

Good configuration ; Well built ; Good input devices

Poor screen ; Single-band Wi-Fi ; Inconsistent performance

HP's Envy 6-1001tx is an Ultrabook that's large, but it just squeezes into Intel's requirements for thickness. It's a good model to consider if you want a thin and reasonably light notebook for gaming. You get a good configuration with lots of RAM,...

HP Envy 6-1006ea

Meet the Sleekbook, HP's super-affordable, AMD-based answer to the Intel Ultrabook.

Superb battery life ; Nicely designed ; Great value ; Good usability

Average performance ; Poor speakers

You might have noticed the absence of VGA here. That’s a good thing in our book, especially on a consumer laptop. Honestly, if you’re still rocking a monitor with only analogue VGA, it’s high time for an upgrade. And as for hooking up to a TV, just use...

Solid, attractive design ; Beats Audio in a lower-end machine ; Comfortable keyboard ; Decent battery life

Finicky touchpad ; Below-average performance

The Sleekbook 6z looks identical to HP's Ultrabook offerings, but its performance trails even lower-end ultraportables we've tested recently.

HP Envy 6 review

The HP Envy 6 is bigger and heavier than most Ultrabooks

Fairly thin ; Reasonably light ; Screen is bright and clear ; Fast enough ; Lack of bloatware

Poor battery life ; Terrible trackpad ; Fingerprint/grease magnet ; SSD only for fast boot ; Low screen resolution

When we think of Ultrabooks, we tend to think of something like the Asus Zenbook UX32A, the Acer Aspire S5 or, of course, the Apple MacBook Air - all with small screen sizes, super-thin chassis and speedy SSD performance.

HP Envy Sleekbook 6-1010us

The HP Envy Sleekbook 6-1010us looks the part of an ultrabook alternative, but with its poor performance and low-quality display, it's the one likely to be left behind.

Less expensive than ultrabooks. Good port selection. Metal construction.

Sluggish performance. Loaded with bloatware. Low-resolution display. Screen door effect on display. Fingerprint magnet

Review HP Envy 6-1000sg Ultrabook

More than just an Ultrabook? Most Ultrabook buyers have to sacrif

high applications performance; gaming capability; SSD cache; decent speakers; good workmanship; long battery life

glossy and dim display; limited choice of connectors; GPU throttling on battery; slow and low range wifi

Even though it isn't an Ultrabook, the Acer Aspire V5-571G has much in common with the Envy 6. Another alternative with an even faster graphics card is the Aspire TimelineU M5-581TG. Most other Ultrabooks like the Lenovo IdeaPad U410 either cannot keep...

HP ENVY Sleekbook 6z Review: Is Being Thin Enough?

This 15.6-inch AMD-powered notebook is 8/10ths of an inch thin, weighs less than five pounds and gets almost eight hours of battery life. That's mighty impressive ... but read our review to find out what we don't like.

Great battery life ; Good touchpad ; Nice-looking design

Awful keyboard ; Poor screen with no upgrade option at this time ; No user upgradeability ; Impressive battery life and a nice design make the Sleekbook 6z quite attractive, but the weak keyboard and poor upgrade options limit the value.

HP Envy 6-1006ea Sleekbook review

We liked the modern and stylish design of the HP Envy 6-1006ea Sleekbook, consisting of brushed black aluminium on the lid and around the keyboard, with red matt-finish plastic underside. The downside to the aluminium parts is that they invite and show...

The HP Envy 6-1006ea Sleekbook scores the same as its Ultrabook counterpart. It's £100 cheaper but this comes with a sacrifice in raw performance. This laptop will suffice for basic tasks like web browsing but not much more.

HP Envy 6 Sleekbook review

Does this AMD-powered "Sleekbook" have the power and panache to take on Intel's Ultrabook army?

Multi-tasking oomph ; Six-hour battery life ; Value for money

Compromised screen resolution ; Skinny but still weighty ; Underwhelming speakers

It's not strictly an Ultrabook, but HP's Sleekbook is both great value and great to use.
