Lenovo's Y50 is even better with 4K

The 15-inch Y50 Touch gaming laptop swaps its bland original screen for a sharp-looking 4K version.

The Lenovo Y50 Touch 4K packs in features, including a mainstream graphics card, touchscreen, and full 4K resolution.

The 4K display looks much better than its dull 1080p predecessor, but the mid-level GPU means you won't actually be playing many games at 4K resolution.

One of our favorite gaming laptops get a sharp 4K display that will make all kinds of content look better, although it's a bit of a tease, as you can't actually crank most games up to that resolution.

Lenovo Y50 Touch

The Lenovo Y50 Touch is a solid gaming laptop for the novice gamer who feels intimidated by all the customization offered by boutique PC manufacturers.

Slim design. Full-HD, touch-capable display. JBL Sound with integrated subwoofer. Good feature set, with USB, HDMI, and Gigabit Ethernet.

Middle-of-the-road battery life. A little large for portability.

Conclusion The Lenovo Y50 Touch is a solid gaming laptop, with good performance and a reasonable price, but it's in a category where performance is often stellar and price is usually a secondary concern. For an off-the-shelf gaming laptop, it's as good...

Lenovo Y50 Touch review: A midsize gaming system with style

Lenovo packs almost everything we've asked for from a midsize gaming laptop into the Y50 Touch.

The Lenovo Y50 Touch has great style for a gaming laptop, plus a touchscreen, and it balances performance, size, and price to the benefit of mainstream gamers.

The display suffers from poor viewing angles and the midlevel graphics card means you can't run newer games at the highest detail settings.

With the Y50 Touch, Lenovo has created a reasonably priced, not-too-big gaming laptop that doesn't look like a throwback. But the most serious PC gamers may want to hold out for a better display and faster GPU.

Review: Lenovo Y50 Touch

"Entry level" and "gaming machine" aren't phrases that normally go together, and "Lenovo" isn't typically a manufacturer that goes with either of them.

Patterned, brushed metal lid is a unique and stylish design

Temperamental touchscreen and touchpad. Barely three hours of battery life. Some issues with temporary hanging at boot. Lackluster performance considering the price. Heavy at 5.8 pounds

Lenovo Y50 Touch Review

Lenovo is leaving no stone unturned. Want a slim and sleek convertible laptop? They've got you covered . Want a tablet with a built-in projector? They've got that , too. Want a gaming machine boasting a combination of raw power and edgy design? Enter...

There’s nothing to dislike about the Y50 Touch, unless you’re finicky about wanting the trackpad centered. It is solid from all angles, bringing with it a clean and mean design that makes no bones about what kind of performance can be expected. Unlike...

A Review of the Lenovo Y50 Touch 4K UHD Laptop Computer 59423621

Excellent display graphics ; Enormous pixel density ; Powerful processing and video features ; Beautifully cool design ; 4K works smoothly

Not a 4K gaming laptop despite screen resolution ; Nvidia GTX 860M GPU too weak for 4K at high FPS

The Lenovo Y50 Touch 4K UHD Laptop Computer 59423621 is superb in almost all regards and an excellent 4K choice due to simple display quality even if you're not looking for 4K resolution specifically. However, for actual high speed gaming in ultra HD,...
