Sony's first ultrabook breaks $800 barrier

 

The ; is an affordable, slim Sony laptop that shares a lot in common with the design of the Vaio Z, and comes with all the ports and features you'd need, plus a larger hard drive.

The screen isn't the best we've seen on a Vaio, and a horribly shallow nonbacklit keyboard is uncomfortable.

Sony's first ultrabook, the Vaio T, doesn't fall far from the tree of other thin Sony laptops like the Vaio Z, but it's far more affordable: this is ultrabook-as-budget-laptop, not ultrabook as high-end computer.

The Vaio T starts at S$1,299 for both the 11-inch and 13-inch variety, which is relatively cheap, but how does it fare in daily use?

Having said that, it does stand out with its metallic design. It’s not as thin as some other ultrabooks nor as light, though the low-ish price might give it an edge over rivals such as Asus.

Sony har släppt ultratunt förut men Vaio T är första datorn enligt ultrabook-specifikation. Ett lågt pris till trots blir vi inte övertygade.

Lågt pris ; Snabb hybriddisk ; Stadig konstruktion

Jämförelsevis tung och tjock ; Ljussvag skärm ; Bitvis högljudd

Vaio T är inte en dålig dator, bara väldigt omärkvärdig. Det finns ingen anledning att välja denna framför en lika billig men snabbare, mer slimmad och bättre byggd dator, vilket flera konkurrenter kan stoltsera med.

Vi har testet Sonys første Ultrabook, her er våre inntrykk.

Fin design, full størrelse på tilkoblinger, bra lyd, meget bra tastatur

Noe viftestøy, under middels batteritid, litt tyngre enn konkurrentene, begrenset grafikk- og diskytelse

Sony Vaio T13 har en meget fin design og et av de beste tastaturene i klassen. Vi setter dessuten stor pris på at den har full størrelse på tilkoblingspunktene, og på de innebygde høyttalerne - som er blant de bedre vi har hørt på Ultrabooks. Pris i...
