Philips Shoqbox SB7200

A tough wireless speaker that can withstand a pounding.

Loads of features ; Rugged body

Sound quality not great for price ; Expensive

Looked at abstracted from its price, the Philips Shoqbox SB7200 is great. It’s sturdy, boasts some fun additional features and has a decent internal battery. At £140, though, its sound doesn’t quite justify the outlay. It’s only worth considering if...

Philips Shoqbox SB7200 review: Big sound, wanna fight about it?

Overbuilt to military specs, this Philips Bluetooth speaker is well-prepared for your next outdoor adventure.

A rubber exoskeleton wraps the ; Bluetooth speaker in a protective layer of hard mesh, while dual magnets inside push out full-bodied tones that reach a level above competing portable speakers.

The gimmicky Smart Sensor adds an overly complicated layer to the speaker's simple design, and the single action button is prone to accidental presses.

The Philips Shoqbox SB7200 is built to survive the great outdoors and manages to sound better than most competing Bluetooth speakers at the same time.

Philips Shoqbox SB7200 review

The Philips Shoqbox SB7200 portable wireless speaker doesn't fill a room with sound quite as well as the pricier Shoqbox SB7300 model, but a tough shell helps it stand out among all the portable Bluetooth speakers currently flooding the category.

"Great little box!"

I have one of these and jambox(small one)in my house and both sound very good and are equal in a number of ways. I like the ruggedness of the Shoqbox, because i typically use it on the back deck on the basketball court. By far the best box you can buy...

Rugged bluetooth speaker with very good sound. The connections is easy and the battery life is all day.

If i choose the wrong langauge at start up, it takes a few tries to get it back to english.

Steer clear.

Looks great and sounded great...for the three uses I got out of it...after that it quit taking a charge. Phillips CS is the worst. Last Phillips product I will ever buy.

Looks cool

Doesn't charge...makes it cool looking useless brick.

I was surprised at how simple it was to get the Shoqbox paired up and playing music. The thing talks to you and let's you know what's going on. Pretty slick. Once paired, I was pleased with the sound quality. It's not a high end system, but for a small...

Sounds great, battery lasts quite a while, rugged. Initial setup regarding languages etc. is a bit confusing at first, but no biggie.
