I was in a hurry yesterday and accidentally exceeded its max capacity. Something snapped and it let out a large shriek when the motor started free-running after the gears broke. Not worth it to repair. Looking for a better built shredder with steel...

I am a light user as far as frequency/amount. This product has not lived up to expectations. I am in the market for a new one now and will go with a different manufacturer.

I'm torn; I like the see-through container but it's something I might not want to keep in my room since it creates a ton of dust.

good shredder but advise to take extended cover on any shredder

Shredder does what it is supposed to do. It's a bit noisy and due to the mesh basket lets a lot of dust out. This can be solved by putting a small pedal bin bag inside. Good price and once again good service from my local Argos.

have to say does not chop paper as small as previous shredder(also a fellowes) both were cross shredders but as its for home use its ok

So far so good. Shredder is efficient and fit for purpose. Based on past experience (not with this make), I will be treating it with care and I WILL oil this one.

I think that the fellowes shredder is the easiest and most security minded item that every household should have. It is compact yet large enough to take all those bank statements etc that need to be securely destroyed.

Does exactly what you expect, document retrieval impossible without a lot of dedication and time. Surprisingly heave piece of kit which adds to its stability.
