Philips 55PUS6753/12 review: One of the best value 4K TVs we’ve seen all year

Outstanding value for money. Philips 55PUS6753/12 review: One of the best value 4K TVs we've seen all year.

Crisp, clean 4K pictures ; Good black levels for its price ; Great value

It's not very bright ; Rather tortuous set up menus ; Bass-light sound

The 55PUS6753’s picture processing and contrast make it a good picture performer for its money. It has a decent smart system too. Just bear in mind that it’s limited brightness can only give you a partial HDR experience.

Philips 55PUS6753/12 4K TV review

One of the best value 4K TVs around

Sharp, detailed pictures ; Rich colours ; Ambilight is fun ; Good value

HDR lacks brightness punch ; No Dolby Vision support ; Limited viewing angle ; Limited bass

Although it’s not bright enough to do full justice to its high dynamic range claims, the 55PUS6753 is still a far better picture performer than you’ve any right to expect from such an affordable 4K TV. Its design also looks more opulent than that of...

Philips 50PUS6703 review

This Ambilight TV has a picture to brighten up your day.

Popping, dynamic image ; Great handling of detail ; Good range of streaming and catch-up apps ; Ambilight

Dull user interface ; Amazon Prime Video isn’t HDR ; Uninspired remote ; Difficult to set up

A punchy, insightful, and nuanced picture for the money. Whatever you’re watching, the 50PUS6703 will do it proud

Philips 6703 Series 4K HDR TV review

Meet Philips' entry-level 4K TV range for 2018

Basic Ambilight technology ; Direct-lit VA LCD panel

Untested Saphi TV smart OS ; Feet are a little wide

Despite their relatively lowly position in Philips’ 2018 range, the 6703 Series appears to offer substantial value for the price thanks to its basic Ambilight technology, direct-lit VA LCD panel and untested Saphi TV smart operating system.

Philips 43PUS6753 4K HDR TV review

As well as clashing bezels with rivals in the high-end OLED TV arena, Philips is fast developing a stranglehold on the budget 4K TV market. Sure, there's tempting competition from the likes of Hisense, Toshiba and others, but if you want a killer deal...

Philips 55PUS6703

Philips aims straight for the mid-range with its 6703 TV range, and it seems to have hit the sweet spot between price and quality. Here's our 6703 review.

Philips 55PUS6753 review

4K HDR and Ambilight for under £600? What's the catch?

Engrossing, immersive picture ; Ambilight really sets it apart ; Excellent black levels

HDR performance could be better ; Sound borders on inadequate ; Cheap-feeling remote

Lots of functionality and a great big screen for the money, but not the last word in HDR performance

Philips 55PUS6753/12 review: The £700 4K TV you've been waiting for

Philips' 4K TV is a superb all-rounder for the money

Ambilight deepens perceived blacks and reduces eye strain ; Deep blacks and natural colours for an LCD ; Low input lag

Peak brightness too low for effective HDR ; 60Hz panel impedes motion clarity and smoothness ; Limited viewing angles

It comes as no surprise that a £700 TV isn’t capable of producing ‘proper’ HDR – if you really want a decent HDR performance you’re better off saving up and spending over £1,000 on a mid-range set. If, however, you just want a good-quality 4K TV for...

Philips 50PUS6703/12 television review

  (Punteggio Nascosto)

LG, Panasonic, Samsung and Sony are the four big TV brands, but there are plenty of manufacturers on the peripheries releasing sizeable ranges. Philips is one of them and its TVs have many of the same features that you'll find in a set from a more...

Excellent VFM

Good picture for the money and Ambilight is a nice feature. Minor issues - if sitting just slightly to the side of the screen instead of directly in front, the picture can look a bit pale and ‘washed out'. Connection sockets at the back are mounted...
