Panasonic PV-DV51 Camcorder Review - Panasonic MiniDV Camcorders

The PV-DV51 is another one of Panasonic's mid-range MiniDV camcorders that seems to be designed for beginners with no desire to learn how to shoot good video by themselves. The camera shoots basically good video, but has limited extras. It does,...

It broke :(

This camera seemed like a good deal to me only to discover that after about my first 15 minutes of recording it stopped and started chewing up the tape. I changed the tape only to chew up the new one. I sent it to Panasonic Services who wanted to...

A good way to start w/ mini-DV

I bought this camera about a year ago, and so far I am very happy with it. The quality of the picture (played through a Sharp 32" basic TV) is outstanding -- much better than our old Sony 8mm. The colors are outstanding, the EIS ("anti-shake")...

Many features for the price. Seems to be high quality/good value

Menus and controls take time to get used to

This is a lot of camera for the dollar!

I've had my Panasonic PV-DV51 Digital Camcorder for about a year now. It's done everything I asked of it. I use it for web shots and some other photo work. I paid about $350 with a rebate last year. That was an amazing price for the camera....

Great little camera

Palm strap, awkward menu system

great camera for the price

I wasn't really in the market for a new camera although i desperately needed one. My old JVC vhs-c wasn't really cutting it. I saw this camera in the Fry's Electronics add for only $377. That's a must have price so I got it. I'm not interested in all...

$400 for a 680k Mini DV Camcorder? You bet!!

I have been in the market for a new camcorder for almost a year now. I'm a guy who likes a lot of bells and whistles on my toys. However, I couldn't see forking out $1300+ for a top of the line camcorder.

A good entry level mini-dv camcorder

Doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles
