A system that LASTS a long time.

 

Even after upgrading system with a dedicated video card and max amount of RAM system still ran great. Only after 8 years of use and countless power outages at my clients office the system finally gave in. I wish ASUS would have continued this line of...

Computer was built and use for a client. It worked like it should with NO problems and not configuration issues too. System was even upgraded with a AGP 8x video card and a total of 2GB of RAM (1x1GB)

None, except the default power supply (250W) should have been a 300W or 350W

Fan Controller Issues

 

We purchased four of these for deployment in a minimal use environment. Upon starting the first one, I noticed the CPU fan spun up, and the stopped. Upon beginning to install windows, I observed it trying to spin up, and failing, and eventually the...

Cheap, all the annoying wires are already hooked up (of course this applies to any barebones model), cheap CPU available, etc

Fan controllers do not work correctly in these. Disable Smart-Fan in the bios! (This may be fixed in a newer bios, but I'm lazy)

Shipped quick, no damaged parts. (ordered a monitor and a complete computers worth of parts).

No brainer: stick parts in box, push power button, insert windows CD. This is the first computer I've built, it took ~1.5hrs from opening the boxes to logging into windows. It's been running for >6 months with no issues. Looks nice too, I like basic...

Old cpu socket seems to rule out any processor upgrades, but I knew that going in

Good price, good case, lightweight

Due to the placement of the chipset heatsink, it is NOT easy to put on the stock AMD CPU heatsink. The power supply is shipped with 230V set instead of 115V

Nice Value

 

Bought 3 recently. All work fine. Good business machines. Put Sempron 3000+ in each. Solid case, nice and small. Decent motherboards

price

came with dead powersupply, not uncommon for barebones on newegg, so not a big deal was planned for. However the board didn't operate correctly, Wouldn't power the fan on the cpu for more than a few seconds without turning off, and giving a Fan Error...

Decent product, just know what you're getting

 

A very large number of the "complaints" about this system are, IMO, due entirely to misinformed users. A 300W power supply is plenty for this machine's intended usage. Having to file down floppy disc eject butons is par for the course with any case...

Good price for the feature set, very quiet. Fast and responsive with a Sempron 2800

The "quick start" manual is skimpy even by barebones standards. No mention is made of the "AI Booster" program you need to install to get rid of the "unknown device" in device manager. One of the 3 I received had slightly "wiggly" video output....

Not Good

 

ASUS HAS CERTAINLY LET THIS ONE SLIP BY THEIR QUAILY CONTROL. This happens again with ASUS, I will definitely go with a different manufacturer.
