Quick Build Home Computer

Great barebones computer for a home computer.

Very easy to setup and get the needed hardware to build a full working computer. Running great with 4GBs of RAM and Windows 7 64 bit. Perfect computer for my mother to just use the internet and office

None for what it was used for

Nice little box

This little box makes a great daily web browing/office tasks box. It would also make a low power server as well (as long as 2 sata ports are enough or a pcie 4x raid card is used). I installed Windows 7 64 bit and had zero problems.

Plenty of speed for everyday tasks of home/small office users

Instructions could be a little better but not a deal breaker

Go to box for Homeserver and Untangle

Add disk, memory, OS or Appliance software and 2nd nic if needed. Presto. Quiet cool and goes about its business

1080p no lag

it is fully compatible with linux mint 13 unfortunately i had some lag with high def video. It appears win7 offers better hardware accelation support out of the box. Linux has to be setup for this and the process seems very involved.

plays mkv 1080p with no lag ; cpu consumption 30-40 ; Make sure you are using an application that supports hardware acceleration like xbmc ; Installed win7 from usb

comes with 2 short hd cables 1 shorter than the other ; i have only 1 hd and the longer cable worked fine

Solid & Reliable

Decent little system. Used as a backup computer for VPNing into work and I have had no issue in the past 2 months using it. Paired it with 4 GB of Kingston RAM (KVR1066D3S8N7K2/4G) and use it 5-6 days a week (on call for work). Low power, quiet,...

Mixed setup experience

My review is based on my setup experience. The instructions are clear enough, especially as it relates to installing the 1st hard drive which can otherwise be tricky. However, if you add memory modules with heat dissipation "exoskeletons" you will find...

Relatively small, integrated, OK setup instructions, very good price

Noisy, drive bay and memory slots clash

Great media center pc

I used a 30 GB Kingston SSD for a boot drive (mounted with double sided carpet tape) and an HDD for storage. Win 7 home premium runs great and loads fast off ssd. Using Hauppauge win dvr 1250. Use any ddr3 ram you have and it will default to 1066 max...

cost, low power usage, compact design

max 1066 ram speed

Foxconn R10-A1

sata cable barely reaches, but it reaches

sturdy little case and a lot of component for the money

fan will probably fail long before the hardware

You get what you pay for

Thanks to Newegg this went back, and we bought a more expensive i3 Foxconn bare bones that, thankfully, has a normal BIOS. We'd probably still be using this if the BIOS had normal recovery methods. It could have easily been reflashed. Gave it 3 eggs...

Small form factor. Quiet! Pretty speedy for what it was, outside of the hangup on boot

There's a BIOS update because some units hang for a few seconds when entering windows, and boot up slow. We decided to use the Windows utility to flash instead of digging endlessly through Foxconn's awful sight to find DOS based instructions. Flashing...

good for a basic HTPC

Has two SATA ports and I was able to mount two 3.5" HDDs in it. Purchased 3.5" to 5.25" bracket set and did mount the second drive inside the DVD drive bay easily.

Inexpensive, easy to install, good internal graphics , gigabit network, plays 1080p content without a problem (with GPU acceleration enabled), good size for an SFF PC

As other mentioned, I don't understand why the power supply is inside the case. Probably because of the cost ; Noisy - cheap fans. PS/2 keyboard locks up occasionally, USB keyboard is fine. Indeed, too short SATA cables ( absolutely no way to install...
