The dx2250 is the least-expensive PC in HP's Compaq business PC line. Although you can get a very inexpensive dx2250 if you skip the extras, even a judicious amount of optional equipment can jack up the price substantially--so much so that it can end...
Compact case ; Good performance for an entry-level PC
No tool-less components ; Basic, no-frills design
A discrete graphics card helped boost this PC's WorldBench 6 score over that of the dc5750, but it upped the price, too.

This entry-level system lacks many of the desirable features found in other HP models, and doesn't cost substantially less.

The HP Compaq dx2250 is the least-expensive PC in HP's Compaq business PC line.
The HP Compaq dx2250's price doesn't differ substantially from the HP dc5750's if you configure them similarly. So unless you're intent on buying a computer with few options, you'll do better with a PC from HP's 5000 series or 7000 series, which offer...

Quiet; fast and reliable!
I've bought many of these as biz workstations. Work great! Just uninstall the Norton and MS Office junk and you're good to go

Love this computer its great nothing wrong with it as far as I can see. I wanted a new desktop and looked to find one that I could afford and found this. Its a great computer and I would advise others to buy it
even though 1g of ram is good its much better with 2gs

I have the version of this machine with 2GB of DDR2. The PC boots very quickly into Windows XP Pro.
For the price, you cannot go wrong with this PC. HP makes very good business class workstations. They are no way comparable to the HP PCs you buy in department stores. If you're looking for a stable machine with plenty of processing power to do normal...
USB ports are not 2.0. 80GB HDD might be small for the power user who enjoys working with many different applications

I also expanded with Sony NEC Optiarc 20X DVD±R DVD Burner Black IDE Model AD-7190A - from Newegg for $29.99
Excellent package deal for the price. I immediately added CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Desktop Memory from NewEgg for $23.99 to make this an awesome computer

We have seven of these now, and they're all speeding along. We bought four of them as expansion computers, and three to replace older eMachines computers that were on their last leg. They work great, provided you know what you want to get out of them,...
I reviewed this previously. You know what? XP Home isn't that bad for this setup. If you don't need a CD burner, there's no need to purchase one, and CD burning programs can be found for free, if you know where to look. It's also a pretty good price...
There are still no bundled programs, which is a minus. Office 2007 is overrated - I'd go 2003, as it's still cheaper and more familiar. You'll have to upgrade to at least 512MB RAM (or simply add a 512 stick to your config)
