UPDATE AND CHECK BIOS SETTINGS

 

great computer for hdpc

make sure you update your drivers to latest from web. dont even install drivers from cd. Make sure you max out the video mem settings in bios to 512. you will then get great playback in hd 1080p otherwise it will studder.

Fantastic choice for HD playback for TVs

 

Hardware acceleration for playing HD sources of newest codec (such as H.264) is really . Make sure using proper codec to make use of this hardware support.

I bought this barebone for HD playback for my new TV (1080p, 46').

It was around $200 after $80 of rebate, however, what happened? The price for this barebone has been increased to $280.

Ubuntu installed totally clean. I added my own video card, and am doing dual monitors with TwinView just fine. Very fast, stable, easy to get running.

Had to find network drivers on the included disk for Vista. The cosmetic plate and button mechanism for the CDROM doesn't work too great.

RAM ISSUE

 

Installation was easy even with the small case. Drivers were simple to find on Shuttle.com, HDMI video and Audio works flawlessly with my setup

Small and powerful...

 

Solid product!

Very small considering how much it can do. Have not found any problems with the system. Comes apart very well to install the Hard Drivers and DVD drive. Stays cool and quiet as well.
