No onboard video or Firewire. Fan slightly louder at idle than the older Shuttle that this SX48P2 Deluxe is replacing

I haven't built a new rig for personal use/gaming since the sn85g4 (I know!!!!!). So its no suprise that the e8600 ran circles around my old amd64 3700+ 754pin.

The SX48P2 Deluxe comes with all the bells and whistles:

Am having some trouble getting the ram working at 1600. I was able to set the 7-7-7-18 settings, but can't get the cpu/dram ratio set properly to get it up to 1600Mhz. but 1333 will be fine for now, and if I can't get it up to 1600, I'm not going to...

One annoying discovery was that the utilities for the the finger-print reader don't support 64 bit! I'm still trying to figure out how to get around this.

The order / shipping process was great. The everything arrived safe and sound, exactly when it was supposed to.

It would have been nice if they could have fit one PCI slot in there, and as has been mentioned in other reviews, the power is marginal for two high-end video cards.

This is my forth Shuttle, they are addictive..

Expected perfection in build quality and beautiful understated design from Shuttle, this baby is quick with the Intel Quad 3.0GHz Q9650 and 8GB RAM, Vista x64 raid 0... Smooth and pleasantly quiet running 4 22" monitors with a fanless video adapter

If you want to update your BIOS, don't use the Shuttle winflash utility with Vista as you may corrupt the BIOS, Shuttle sent me a new one for nominal charge. Instead use the DOS based utility and save the hassle
