As a media streamer the Neuros OSD has a solid feature set, but does lack a little in terms of connectivity. Mired only by its limitation to composite...
YouTube feature, multiple input sources and output locations
Composite video output
This streamer may appeal to some people in some situations. However, many people who need streamers are going to be quite tech-savvy and will want a device with better quality output.

If you're the type who has thoroughly enjoyed the bevy of recent DIY ideas to come our way, then you're likely to be one of the few who actually dig the Neuros...

The basic premise of the Neuros OSD is that you connect almost any video source through the OSD to your TV to view the media whilst recording onto a range of different formats. The OSD device develops on the MPEG-4 Recorder we reviewed back in 2005. We...
Network access, input connections allow any playable source to be recorded, open source, regular firmware updates, YouTube video streaming
Menu basic and clunky, remote control not precise, options can be confusing, takes careful set-up
We do have an issue with the menu system and frustrations with the remote control, which mar the experience for the user. The menus, certainly, can be improved, and during our 2-week test, they did change which is a positive. However, at this price...

The OSD is a bonkers set-top video box/recorder for hackers, which doubles up as a neat DVD-to-PSP video ripper

Recensione esperto da : Jez Ford (avhub.com.au)

The Neuros has a very intuitive interface. This must have been designed by engineers who loved their job. Records programs on SD flash cards, USB thumb drives, or USB hard drives.

You don't HAVE to be a Linux geek to work the Neuros OSD. My daughter uses this thing, as do people in the Church Soundroom, replacing cumbersome audio/video capture tools.
Easy To Set Up, Easy To Use, Reliable, Sleek Design
Extras needed
Recensione utente (radioshack.com)
The Neuros OSD is definitely a cool hacker toy for those familiar with Linux and software development. However, I would not recommend this to a low tech person that simply wants his or her device to work. I have upgrade the firmware (software on the...

Difficult To Use, Unreliable
