Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex TV review: A Full HD media streamer that can play content off a hard drive or a network
Small size, comprehensive file support, two USB 2.0 ports, Ethernet port, YouTube and Flickr access, easy to use
Remote control could be better, file listing for videos could be better, file index has to be rebuilt every time you switch on the unit
If you're looking for a small network media streamer that can also play content off USB hard drives, Seagate's FreeAgent GoFlex TV HD Media Player is a great choice. It has a clean interface that's easy to use and it supports a huge range of file formats.

Last year we reviewed Seagate's FreeAgent Theater+ Media Player and generally liked what we saw, particularly the device's ability to play back most file formats. For 2010, Seagate has put out an updated version of that product that offers very similar...
Built-in Ethernet for streaming files from a networked PC or accessing Internet services; supports Netflix streaming and other online media access; HD output up to 1080p; integrated slot for FreeAgent GoFlex storage drive; compact, stylish design; you...
No built-in Wi-Fi (wireless option costs an extra $50); Blu-ray players with similar features are available for not much more money; the drive sticks out when installed; Seagate's 1TB GoFlex drive doesn't fit inside the device; no Pandora streaming.
The inclusion of Netflix and other online-streaming options make the FreeAgent GoFlex TV a compelling option for file hoarders who also want access to cloud-based media.

I am a huge fan of digital media, especially videos. I just love everything about being able to cram hundreds of movies or photos onto a tiny memory card or drive. What used to require a shelf full of DVDs can now be stored in just about any portable...
The Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Media Player is available from Seagate for $129. GoFlex portable drives are sold separately.

I've read reviews on The Gadgeteer for media players that hook up with your TV or home theater setup and let you view your home videos, pictures, movies, and even play your music files. I've always been interested in them, but I've never had one of...
Easy setup ; Streaming, HD playback works flawlessly ; Easy to access content from hard drives, USB flash drives, and cameras ; Netflix access is easy and works perfectly
Quick Start Guide steps include installing software that wasn't included nor needed ; Can't sign in to your Flickr account ; No HDMI cable included ; Home screen options are a bit redundant

The Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Media Player makes navigating and accessing your digital media files easy and lets you stream media directly from the Internet, your computer and your USB devices. This means you can easily watch, share and play your...
The Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex TV supports a massive number of multimedia files and codecs with the ability to stream Netflix movies quickly and easily. Even though it doesn't have the fastest USB 3.0 drive we have seen, the GoFlex TV is easily one of...

Seagate delivers a full-featured media streamer at an affordable price, but it's not quite as polished as the WD TV Live Plus.
Like the WD TV Live Plus, the FreeAgent GoFlex TV is a connected box that lets you play media from computers, media servers, and storage devices on your network, or from USB flash or hard drives plugged directly into the device (you can also insert a...

Be nice if it had a connector for hookup to the router to read my nas server
I love this ; I have not found anything it will not play ; I hooked it up to a external 3 TB drive and it picked up 720 movies ; It will even play Blu-ray iso files
Sluggish

I purchased another for my mom around the same time, she uses it nearly everyday and it still runs like a champ. I might give this product one more shot.
Played any file I threw at it ; Streamed Netflix well
Lasted about almost three months ; Was hardly used ; Began having problems with the HDMI output and finally just wouldn't power on

Excellent buy at any price, stop converting your videos and just use this box. Oh, and i bought a rosewell USB external 2.5 case and it slides right into the Theatre+. The Goflex is just about the exact same thing. Turn your tv on to the web. To much...
I own the sister unit that is now discontinued. The Seagate Theatre+ is what i have owned for about 2 months. My modem and router sit on top of my tv center. The Seagate Theatre+ has a lan port. I plug the Theatre+ into the router. Now i am able to...
It does not dispense Bud Light from the USB port. That is the only problem i can see with this unit
Recensione utente (newegg.com)
100M lan = 100MB/s (should be at least 8MB/s) the connection is maxing out at about 1.2MB/s
small, cheap ; plays FLAC through USB (see cons) ; simple to use and implement
lan connection wont play HD movies due to BW limitations (DVD Quality works fine) ; AVIs, MKVs wont play. some files will have no audio, some have no video & some just wont play at all ; FLAC wont play over lan ; samba only works on a windows network....
