The original Fitbit Flex sat at the entry-level end of Fitbit's product range. It was a relatively discreet tracker that did the basics of activity and sleep tracking, but offered little beyond that.
The Fitbit Flex 2 is a solid upgrade over the original, but it’s still a rather basic activity tracker for the money.

Waterproof ; Swim tracking ; Automatic sleep tracking ; Affordable at $100 ; Good-looking jewelry style accessories available from both designers and Fitbit
Swimming and automatic activity tracking requires extra steps to activate ; Battery life isn’t great with things like Swim Tracking and Reminders to Move tracking on ; Does not fit original Fitbit Flex bands or accessories
Overall the Flex 2 is an elegant and impressive fitness tracker at a fantastic price point. You no longer have to worry about looking like you’re getting ready to compete in the Ironman with the new jewelry style options available for the Flex 2, and...

Fitbit's Flex is back for round two
Comfortable and light ; Fun software ; Water resistant
Battery life not great ; Slow to charge ; Feature-light hardware
The Fitbit Flex 2 is a solid choice for those after something simple, as well as those who are in need of a water-resistant tracker. It's smaller and sleeker than the original, but at the cost of battery life.

With the Flex 2, Fitbit upgrades its original entry-level fitness tracker with a fully waterproof design, color LEDs, automatic activity tracking, and a variety of ways to wear it.

If all you need are the basics, this is the fitness tracker to get.
The Flex 2 is slim and swim-proof, can track basic fitness data and supports a variety of accessories, including pendants.
It lacks a display and the more advanced features of other Fitbit trackers. Lacks heart rate tracking. The LED lights can be confusing; battery life should be better.
The Fitbit Flex 2 doesn't have all of the bells and whistles of other trackers, but it's finally swim-proof, and it does the basics and it does them well.

But in exchange for that long-overdue swim-friendliness, other features are lost. There's no heart rate tracking, and it doesn't have a display. Are you OK with that compromise?

The Flex 2 is the sequel to the Fitbit's original all-day activity-tracker . It brings together fitness-tracking and sleep-tracking into a simple yet stylish wrist-worn design. The Fitbit Flex 2 is a simple yet effective tracker with a more exciting...
Waterproof, slim and stylish design, interchangeable accessories, accurate basic tracking, good value, great app platform
No elevation data, no GPS tracking, basic features, battery life could be better still, no third-party notification support
The Fitbit Flex 2 is a simple yet effective tracker with a more exciting design than its predecessor. Not a great deal has changed in terms of looks, but Fitbit has done enough to ensure the new-generation model doesn't look like a boring rubber band....

Fitbit Flex 2 review: Fitbit's first water-resistant fitness tracker is still simple at heart, but with a more compact form factor & smaller asking price.
Slim and light ; Water resistant ; Choice of bands
Basic tracking ; Short battery life
If all you want is a simple motion tracker that can measure your daily steps or swim sessions, the Flex 2 is perfectly fine. However, anyone who’s serious about their workouts or who demands a stronger set of features should definitely look elsewhere..

Fitbit's cheapest tracker is a good'un
Accurate tracking ; Comfortable fit ; Easy-to-use app
No display ; Cheaper trackers are available
A good, cheap fitness band with a great app
