The Garmin Epix might be the king of smart fitness watches, delivering more health metrics and detailed information than any other device.
Up to 16 days of battery life Incredibly precise heart rate tracking Detailed health metrics Built-in altimeter and compass Great social features Extensive data customization
High price tag Some metrics feel inaccurate No ability to respond to messages through the watch
“The Garmin Epix series 2 provides detailed, in-depth health metrics for dedicated athletes and beginners alike.”

All things bright and beautiful
Stunning AMOLED display ; Advanced but accessible fitness tracking ; Accurate GPS and excellent maps
Shorter battery life than Fenix 7 ; No microphone for calls ; Most expensive Garmin to date

The Garmin Epix Gen 2 has the prettiest AMOLED display of all premium Garmin watches
Stunning AMOLED screen ; Amazing battery life (for an AMOLED watch) ; Touchscreen works well ; New workout modes (EMOM, AMRAP)
Super expensive
The Garmin Epix Gen 2 is a premium touch-screen smartwatch that offers both topographic maps and on-screen animated workouts. The AMOLED screen is a joy to look at, and the battery life is brilliant, too; no wonder the watch has such an epic price tag...

Our comprehensive review of Garmin's luxury outdoor watch, the Epix 2. We test out the design, performance and battery to see how it stacks up.
Bright and vibrant display ; Solid tracking features ; Excellent health data ; Durable build
Only comes in one size ; Lacking interactive notifications ; Battery not as long-lasting as Fenix ; Very expensive
The second-generation Epix finds the right balance between offering a bright, colourful display and maintaining strong battery life. Like many of Garmin's more premium offerings, though, the Epix 2 isn't for everybody, despite being an outstanding watch.

People with smartwatches enjoy brilliant modern AMOLED displays, but with the Garmin Epix athletes no longer have to compromise on the display experience. There is still more from Garmin that can be added in a future Epix, but this one is our favorite...
Gorgeous, brilliant AMOLED display -High quality sapphire and titanium materials ; Touchscreen and five-button navigation interface ; Powerful Garmin ecosystem and capability ; Solid battery life ; Support for a vast number of sports and activities
Expensive ; No phone call or voice assistant support

Garmin knows how to combine smart and training. The new kid on the block is a premium multisport watch for active people who love adventure.
Attractive and robust watch for the adventurous who like a little different forms of training. The included Garmin Connect app elevates the experience even further.
The price is quite high and eSIM should have been included. Slightly sharp edges that risk tearing a silk blouse or the lining of a jacket.
I really like the Garmin Epix. It has ( almost ) everything you need in a really luxurious package, without being too flashy. The material selection is nice and it’s a superb training watch. You just had to have it at that price!

A review of the Garmin Epix 2 - what is the Garmin Epix 2 like, how long is the battery life, and who is it recommended for?
So, if you value battery life above all else, go with the Fenix 7; if you want something that looks better on your wrist, the Garmin Epix makes for the more stunning wearable.

The Garmin Epix 2 is probably the most powerful sports watch that money can currently buy. However, Garmin still has room for improvement.
Huge accessory ecosystem ; Great tracking features ; Great running analysis functions ; Robust workmanship with optional sapphire crystal
Missing smartwatch features ; Only one size available
Garmin fans have been waiting for a watch like the Epix 2 for years: a Fenix with a chic display. Underneath the hood, the Epix 2 has the same enormously versatile and sophisticated hardware as the new Fenix 7 and is thus already probably the best...
