The G-Tech G-Drive EV ATC with Thunderbolt is fast, tough and supports both USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt connections. The outer shell is watertight, the internal drive can be swapped out with other drives in G-Tech's EV series.

The drive is bulky, limited to only 1TB capacity and expensive if you're not looking for a durable drive.

Those in need of a speedy portable storage device that can handle a rough, dirty or wet environment, the G-Tech G-Drive EV ATC is an excellent buy.

Using this on a Macbook Pro 6,2, have it partitioned so a little less than half of it is used for time machine to back up my 320GB hard drive and the rest is used to archive all my old photos/videos/music. works great, and the drive came formatted for...

May be a con for you, but I kind of like it-Drive is a little noisy, especially when accessing data. But I like being able to hear my stuff work so its not a con for me, and would probably not be very annoying to anyone ; Drive is longer than i thought...

Nice Disk / No Redundancy

 

The build quality on this disk is excellent, it is fast and works with mac out of the box. (No need to re-partition for mac use)

The description says this has hot swappable drives, but this is raid 0 (striping) if you take out one drive you make the raid invalid therefor it is broken and cannot be rebuilt unless you put in the drive you removed. This is really misleading, while...

Installation on a PC needs improvement..

 

I use it as a backup for my HP Envy all in one. It works fine once I figured out how to install it. It's set up to be a plug and play on a MAC so I had to reformat it before I could assign a drive letter.

Best external harddrive on the market

 

Partitioned into three drives. One for film files, One for photo files and the last one is still empty. Every aspect of this drive is great, It's compact and has a black leather carrying case that travels well.
